CEO succession planning is critical for all companies because it ensures a smooth leadership transition, minimizes disruption during a CEO change, protects the company's strategic direction, and ultimately safeguards the organization's long-term stability and performance by having a prepared successor plan – not when you need it but long before you do! As Directors it is a number one fiduciary responsibility to develop and nurture CEO Succession plans and continue to refresh them.
