Women’s health is no longer “a niche benefits issue” primarily focused on reproductive health. It is a material governance concern. Women make up nearly half of the workforce and are primary caregivers at home. Their health directly influences productivity, absenteeism, retention and leadership pipelines.
Women face unique risks such as maternal morbidity, menopause, autoimmune conditions and a higher incidence of cardiovascular disease. Unaddressed women’s health needs result in billions in losses of productivity and higher turnover annually. Menopause symptoms cost $1.8 billion annually in the US alone.
Boards are responsible for human capital strategy and human resource reporting, initially through compensation committees, as well as risk management and other important sustainability reporting, areas where women’s health belongs at the forefront.
Please join us and our panel of experts who will educate and inform board directors about the important imperative and business impacts of women’s health on companies:
-
Strategic risks: What are the costs of absenteeism, presenteeism and turnover due to unaddressed women’s health needs?
-
Workforce retention: How do reproductive health, caregiving responsibilities, and menopause affect female career trajectories and representation in leadership?
-
Benefit adequacy: Do current benefits cover the full life course – fertility, pregnancy, maternal health, menopause, mental and mind health, chronic disease?
-
Policy environment: How might changes in Medicaid, family leave, or reproductive rights impact your lowest-wage employees – and by extension, operations?
Directors will leave with a clearer definition of women’s health that goes beyond reproductive care; data on morbidity and costs relevant to business strategy; insights into the workforce and equity implications of unaddressed women’s health and, most importantly, actionable questions to bring back to their compensation committee and boards for discussion with management.
