As artificial intelligence, automation, and digital platforms reshape how work is performed, and as immigration policy, demographics, and global talent flows continue to evolve, the composition of the American workforce is undergoing a profound transformation. For boards and executive leaders, understanding these shifts is no longer a workforce planning issue alone—it is a strategic imperative.
This session will begin with a keynote from D’Arbeloff Professor at Harvard Business School, William Kerr. He will be joined by fellow panelists to examine how emerging technologies are changing job design, productivity, and skill requirements, while demographic trends and immigration dynamics influence talent availability, diversity, and competitiveness. Panelists will explore how companies can balance innovation with responsible workforce strategies, including reskilling, redeployment, and human-AI collaboration, as well as how policy developments may affect long-term labor supply.
Participants will gain insight into what tomorrow’s workforce may look like, how organizational models and leadership expectations are evolving, and what boards should be asking management today to ensure their companies remain resilient, competitive, and socially responsible in a rapidly-shifting labor landscape.
