Governance Challenges: 2014 and Beyond
Governance Challenges: 2014 and Beyond is the only publication of its type published by NACD. We ask our leading content partners—Heidrick & Struggles, KPMG’s Audit Committee Institute, Marsh & McLennan Companies, Pearl Meyer & Partners, and Sidley Austin—to provide their respective guidance on the areas they believe will present challenges in the coming year. In years past, submissions have generally reflected each partner’s area of expertise overlaid on the broader issues of corporate strategy and performance. This year is remarkable, however, in that our partners’ guidance touches upon a wide range of topical issues—from cybersecurity to international tax implications to an evolving regulatory environment—all of which are likely to affect boardrooms across the nation.
It is well known that the obligations of directorship have expanded since the financial crisis. Today, exemplary board leadership requires that directors maintain a steady eye on long-term corporate goals, while having an appreciation of the many issues that may be just around the corner. This publication will help directors be aware of these immediate issues.
