About The Event
On October 21, Heartland NACD members gathered for Women on Boards and How They Got There. Experts considered how diverse boards improve business outcomes, but noted women hold only 25% of public company director roles. This session explored strategies for women to secure impactful board positions and succeed in boardroom dynamics. Attendees went away with a clear understanding of the current landscape for women in boardrooms and their representation across different company types; the importance of diversity in driving better business outcomes; strategies for gaining board positions; best practices for navigating boardroom dynamics; strategies for securing a board seat of significance; insights to overcome the challenges women face in board settings; and best practices for achieving success as a MVP board member.
