Boards Can No Longer Treat Cyber Risk as a Management Issue
Directors face a threat landscape moving faster than traditional governance can absorb — from AI governance gaps to quantum threats already in motion. At a recent NACD and Internet Security Alliance (ISA) media roundtable, governance and cybersecurity leaders emphasized this message while marking the release of the updated Director's Handbook on Cyber-Risk Oversight. NACD President and CEO Peter Gleason, America's first federal CISO and CMU CERT Director, Greg Touhill, NACD.DC, ISA President Larry Clinton and Leidos CISO JR Williamson converged on one point: cyber risk is now a board-level strategic imperative, and the tools to lead are available now.
