Boards are spending significantly more time on decision-making in uncertain environments than ever before, given today’s polycrises—complex geopolitics, the rapid adoption of artificial intelligence, tariff and supply chain disruption, and workforce changes. Leading boards are not necessarily demanding more information; instead, they are cutting through the noise to make timely decisions and execute under pressure.
As boards navigate these overlapping pressures, our discussion will focus on how dynamic boards—public and private—are adapting their practices, committee structures, and operating cadence to govern effectively. Our roundtable discussion prompts may include:
- How are boards strengthening oversight of AI and emerging technologies?
- Which issues are landing with committees today—and how are responsibilities shifting?
- What skills and experiences are boards prioritizing in new director appointments?
- What approaches are proving effective for ongoing director education and staying current?
This roundtable will be facilitated by Stephen Brown of the KPMG Board Leadership Center.
