Tom Carroll

University Professor, Leadership Consultant, Board Leader, Yoga Teacher and World Traveler

Tom Carroll is the retired Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer for RR Donnelley, a 12-billion-dollar international Fortune 250 Company with more than 70,000 employees worldwide. Currently, he consults on corporate projects, provides executive coaching, speaks on many leadership topics, and teaches at Illinois State University.

Tom graduated from ISU with a bachelor's and master’s degree in clinical psychology.  Over his 40-year career, Tom has worked in social service, healthcare and manufacturing. As the EVP and Chief Administrative Resource Officer, Tom had responsibility for all aspects of human resources for domestic and global operations in China, India, Mexico, South America, Canada, Europe, and the United States.  He oversaw corporate marketing, environmental health and safety, corporate real estate and was instrumental in the success of the company’s enterprise technology incubator in New York City and in managing a ten-million-dollar venture fund.

Tom has received numerous awards for community service.  In October of 2025 he received the Alumnus of the Year Lifetime Achievement Award by the Department of Psychology at Illinois State University.  While traveling the world running yoga retreats, Tom has served on several not-for-profit Boards - Chicago YMCA, the Chicago Public Library Foundation, Chicago Lighthouse for the Blind, Naperville Area Humane Society, Naperville Community Television, and North Central College.  He currently serves on the Board of Miller Park Zoological Society, The Baby Fold, and the State Board of Nursing.

Tom is a skilled business strategist, executive coach, team developer, facilitator, and motivational speaker.
