Dr. Shane Goodwin is the executive director of the SMU Corporate Governance Initiative at Southern Methodist University. He also serves as a professor of practice in finance at the SMU Cox School of Business and an adjunct professor of law at the SMU Dedman School of Law, where he teaches courses in M&A, corporate governance, leadership, and corporate law. Dr. Goodwin has over 30 years of experience in M&A, investment banking, private equity, and board leadership as a practitioner, educator, and expert witness. Previously, Dr. Goodwin held senior academic appointments at Columbia University, Harvard Law School, and Harvard University. He has nearly 25 years of experience in the financial sector with firms such as Goldman Sachs, Citigroup, and Wells Fargo Securities. Dr. Goodwin also serves as a Board Leadership Fellow and is an NACD Certified Director.
