Lee Sentnor
Professional Practice Director - Corporate Governance, BDO
Lee has spent more than 13 years with BDO as part of the National Professional Practice office within BDO’s Center for Corporate Governance, which is designed for financial executives and those charged with governance of both public and private companies. She is responsible for the development and presentation of continuing professional education webinars, on-demand and podcast programs and thought leadership pieces on a variety of matters related to corporate governance. These topics include board committee roles, responsibilities and best practices, in addition to emerging corporate governance issues. She is further involved in our firm’s board of director forums and custom client presentations as well as participating in external events for corporate directors.
Internally, Lee is responsible for the design and maintenance of firm tools and resources supporting auditor communications with audit committees. She is involved in various projects and initiatives to streamline processes, ensure audit quality and expand relationships with boards of directors. She supports and is engaged in BDO initiatives aimed at flexibility, development, and diversity, including participation in BDO’s Women’s Inclusion initiative, the Virtual Parenting Network, and BDO Flex.
Lee has prior public accounting experience serving manufacturing and high technology companies as well as nonprofit entities including assisting clients with public debt offerings and acquisition transactions. She also served in the private sector for a large financial institution focused on implementation of new accounting guidance as well as overseeing the accounting and reporting various investment companies. Additionally, she has experience in education designing curriculum including authoring and delivering various business courses on topics in personal finance, accounting and business law.
