Benjamin P. Edwards

Associate Dean for Faculty Research and Development, William S. Boyd School of Law

Benjamin Edwards researches and writes about business and securities law, corporate governance, professional ethics, and alternative dispute resolution. He has served as chair of several Sections for the Association of American Law Schools, including Securities Regulation, Professional Responsibility, and Transactional Law and Skills. He is a member of the American Bar Association's Corporate Laws Committee that provides expert commentary and leadership on the development of business corporation laws. Before teaching, Edwards practiced in the New York office of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP. His prior work includes matters related to the Madoff Ponzi Scheme, consumer protection, financial crisis litigation, securities litigation, and securities arbitration. His writing has appeared in academic publications and media outlets, including The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, Bloomberg, The Hill, Salon, The Daily Beast, and Investment News.
