Michelle Hong

Program Chair

Michelle Hong is a seasoned senior executive leader and independent corporate director with more than 25 years of experience in financial and legal services. She is a corporate director of PECO, an Exelon company and the largest electric and natural gas utility in Pennsylvania, and a board member of NACD Philadelphia.

From 2019 to 2025, Hong was a founding partner and co-head of the Philadelphia office of Northern Trust, a 130-year old Fortune 500 bank and trust company. She began her career in private legal practice at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett in New York City and at Morgan, Lewis & Bockius in Philadelphia. She earned her law degree from Harvard Law School and her bachelor of arts from Duke University. She studied British Literature at the University of Oxford in as a Lord Rothermere Scholar.

Hong's commitment to the Philadelphia community is evident in her extensive history of nonprofit board service. She currently serves on the boards of WHYY and the Committee of Seventy; her prior board service includes Main Line Health, Philabundance (board chair), and the Center City District Foundation. She is a member of the Forum of Executive Women and has received awards and accolades from the Philadelphia Business Journal, Philadelphia Magazine, the Arts and Business Council of Greater Philadelphia, and Metro Philadelphia.
