Hospital and health system boards are navigating a complex environment, facing significant challenges managing financial, leadership and workforce stability, and the integration of technology and digital transformation amid increased regulatory scrutiny. In the last few years, these boards have pivoted from COVID-19 crisis management to a renewed focus on leadership stability, building strategic long-term resilience, and strengthening operating discipline to address shrinking margins. Board members must also facilitate the continual improvement of clinical quality and service outcomes and support their mission through community service and philanthropy. Board and C-suite alignment has never been more important. The panelists will address these issues and discuss how hospital and health system boards balance talent management, technology adoption, and financial sustainability along with other important aspects of governance of hospitals and health systems.
