Directors are navigating an increasingly polarized social and political environment in which expectations from employees, customers, investors, communities, and other stakeholders can conflict sharply—not only once they enter the boardroom, but on the path to board service itself.
Boardrooms Under Pressure will explore how these forces are reshaping what is expected of directors both on the way to the boardroom and once they are seated. The conversation will examine how aspiring and experienced directors navigate stakeholder expectations, determine when societal and political issues warrant board attention, and exercise independent judgment when those expectations conflict with what they believe is in the best interests of the organization.
Our experts will discuss what effective directors bring to these increasingly complex conversations, how boards remain focused on strategy, risk, and long-term value amid external pressure, and what aspiring and newer directors should understand about serving in today’s boardroom.
This event is being held in person for our Kansas City members at Stinson Headquarter:
This program is being made available virtually for our members in St. Louis, Iowa, Nebraska, Oklahoma, and all outlying areas, virtual doors open at 7:25 a.m:
