What We Do
NACD empowers more than 20,000 directors to lead with confidence in the boardroom. As the recognized authority on leading boardroom practices, NACD helps boards strengthen investor trust and public confidence by ensuring that today's directors are well-prepared for tomorrow's challenges.

Close collaboration with colleagues across the organization fosters a natural environment of continuous learning—one of our core values. NACD provides organization-wide training opportunities for all employees at all levels in addition to job-specific training and networking opportunities.
NACD also encourages employees to pursue degree programs and professional certification programs to advance their long-term career goals. Our Educational Assistance Program provides some reimbursement for tuition, fees, and books. Giving back to our community and making a difference in the lives of others is at the heart of NACD’s culture. Twice a year, NACD closes its office to allow employees to disperse into their communities to volunteer at the charitable organization of their choice. This NACD Day of Service gives employees leadership opportunities in their neighborhoods and establishes our organization as a positive contributor in our community—providing support for the organizations that need it the most.
Additionally, during the year-end holidays, we typically donate to several charitable organizations. And each Friday is a Jeans Day for us: we allow employees to wear jeans and ask that, in exchange, they donate to a local organization that could use a helping hand. All of these organized, collaborative efforts bring our employees together to make a positive impact on the lives of others.
