Ryan Whelan is a Managing Director at Accenture and Global Head of Accenture Cyber Intelligence, where he leads the firm's global intelligence function serving a global portfolio of clients across digital risk protection, threat exposure management, and intelligence-led security. He brings more than 15 years of experience across the public and private sectors in security, intelligence, and strategy, with a track record of advising executives and boards on managing cyber and geostrategic risk. Before joining Accenture in 2024, Ryan served as CISO and EVP of Enterprise Technology at a battery manufacturing startup, reporting directly to the CEO on information security, cyber risk management, and enterprise resilience. Earlier, as VP and Head of Mandiant Intelligence Services (now part of Google Cloud), he built and scaled a global intelligence business through five consecutive years of revenue growth exceeding 100%. He also serves as an officer in the US Army Reserve, leading cyber resilience for the Defense Innovation Unit and helping emerging technology companies meet Department of Defense readiness standards. Ryan holds degrees from Miami University of Ohio, Columbia University, and the National Intelligence University.
