Ryan Flury

Ryan Flury is a partner and portfolio manager at Brown Advisory Inc., based in Nashville, Tennessee. He works with multigenerational families to provide thoughtful investment advice and strategic planning across public and private markets, drawing on over 20 years of experience in family office strategy and wealth management.

Prior to joining Brown Advisory, Flury was comanaging partner at Second Mountain Partners, a boutique advisory firm serving large single-family clients. His work focused on investment strategy, philanthropic planning, next-generation education, and collaboration with legal and tax advisors.

Earlier in his career, Flury spent 15 years at J.P. Morgan Private Bank, where he led the Nashville office and advised families across the Southeast, as well as the cochair of the firm’s market leadership team for the Mid-South region. There, he also served as an investment specialist in Chicago, advising large single families across public and private markets. Before that, he held investment roles at Silvercrest Asset Management Group, comanaging a US large-cap value equity fund and conducting due diligence on alternative investments.

Within the Nashville community, he currently serves as an executive committee member, treasurer, and finance committee chair of the Nashville Zoo at Grassmere as well as the board chair and executive committee member of Persist.

Flury earned his bachelor’s degree in economics from the College of William & Mary and his master of business administration from the UVA Darden School of Business.
