Rod Cotton

Rod Cotton is CEO of Cotton Ventures and a director on boards in the healthcare, biotech, and health tech sectors. He serves on the board of Castle Biosciences (Nasdaq: CSTL) and as an independent director for Eisai Pharmaceutical US, General Genomics, and Moleculera Biosciences. He is also a board member and governance chair at Community Health Network and a venture partner with 2Flo Ventures, advising health equityfocused startups.

Cotton built his executive career over more than four decades in healthcare, including more than 23 years at Roche Diagnostics, where he rose to senior vice president, head of strategy and transformation, and chief of staff to the CEO of Roche. He also held senior leadership roles at GSK and Baxter International, driving financial turnarounds and cultural transformation across four global healthcare organizations.

A frequent keynote speaker on board governance, innovation, and health equity, Cotton was named one of the Most Influential Corporate Directors and Most Influential Black Executives in Corporate America by Savoy Magazine.

He holds an MBA from California State University, Dominguez Hills; an MS in strategic management from the University of Southern California; and a BA in biological sciences and technology from the University of California, Santa Barbara. He is a member of the Nashville Chapter of NACD.
