Richard Munro has over 35 years’ experience bringing effective leadership to growth and underperforming businesses and improving their performance, measured by outstanding growth in revenue and market share, profits, return on capital employed, and value to shareholders.

Richard has held many international senior executive leadership positions as CEO, CFO and COO, and Federal and State Court Appointments as a Provisional Director, Receiver, Post Judgment Receiver, Referee, Trustee, and Court Expert, Chief Restructuring Officer (CRO) appointments in Federal Chapter 11 Bankruptcy cases, out of court business restructurings and orderly business wind downs and liquidations. In addition, he has served on a variety of public, private equity, multinational, and private company boards over 35 years. His experience and qualifications as an operating executive, corporate board director and Fellow Chartered Accountant (equivalent to a CPA) uniquely qualifies Richard to execute successful Court appointments as a fiduciary, receiver, neutral, CRO, and financial advisor in troubled situations.

Richard is recognized as being very effective in identifying & solving problems that create business underperformance and financial distress and efficiently implementing practical solutions for profitable growth & recoveries for beneficiaries, lenders, creditors & equity. His experience spans various healthcare providers, multi-unit specialty retailers, restaurants, food, nutritional supplements, construction, real estate, apparel, manufacturing, consumer products, energy, distribution, professional services & not for profit organizations.

As a Fellow Chartered Accountant, Richard is a recognized financial expert and adept at forensic accounting analysis to trace financial transactions and accurately report to parties and the Court. As a California real estate broker, Richard has handled many complex business and real estate transactions under Court oversight. He establishes credibility quickly with Judicial Officers and maintains neutrality in following the facts in each case.

Richard holds a Master of Business Administration degree in business strategy, a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and Management Information Systems, he is a licensed Fellow Chartered Accountant (FCA), and holds a California Real Estate Broker License BRE: 01900072. Richard is a member of AICPA, a Board Leadership Fellow and Directorship Certified by the National Association of Corporate Directors, Chairman of the NACD Pacific Southwest Chapter, Chairman of Corporate Contractors, Inc., and a Director of the California Receivers Forum.
