Rachel Gonzalez is the former Chief Legal Officer and Corporate Secretary of GE Vernova, the energy business spin-off of the General Electric Company, where she was responsible for global law and policy matters. Rachel joined GE in 2023 to prepare GE Vernova for its spin-off and to architect and implement its public company governance, complete the disposition of its nuclear steam business, and build one company out of 12 independent businesses. GE Vernova has quadrupled its market capitalization since its spin-off, reflecting a successful turn-around of its businesses, effective strategic portfolio choices, and strengthening demand for energy.Rachel’s people leadership, transformation skills and transaction execution experience strongly advanced GE Vernova’s early success.

Prior to that, Rachel served as executive vice president, law & corporate affairs, and general counsel of Starbucks Coffee Corporation. Joining Starbucks in April 2018, Rachel and the Starbucks management team were tasked with transitioning Starbucks from a founder-led to founder-inspired organization. During her tenure with Starbucks, she played an active role in shaping and executing Starbucks growth-at-scale strategy to support revenue and earnings growth, including the effective implementation of a $7 billion global licensing alliance with Nestle and building the Starbucks digital app strategy. She also helped Starbucks navigate Howard Schultz’ 2020 exploratory presidential campaign.

In her previous role as Chief Administrative Officer of Sabre Corporation, Rachel led global human resources, corporate communications, legal strategy, regulatory affairs, corporate compliance, and government affairs. While at Sabre, she supported the restructuring of the company’s resources to provide an appropriate foundation for growth, as well as guiding the company through significant anti-trust matters.

Rachel served as Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary with Dean Foods in Dallas, Texas, leading the successful spin-off of its WhiteWave Division. Earlier in her career, Rachel was a partner with the law firm of Morgan, Lewis & Bockius, where she focused on corporate finance, mergers & acquisitions, and corporate governance.

Rachel serves on the board of Electronic Arts as a member of the Compensation Committee and the Nominating and Governance Committee. She previously served on the boards of Dana Incorporated, Sabre Corporation and Vacasa. She also serves on the Advisory Board of PODER25, a sub-organization of the Hispanic National Bar Association.

Rachel holds a law degree from the University of California, Berkeley School of Law, as well as a bachelor’s degree in Comparative Literature with high honors from the University of California,Berkeley. She is currently seeking a Certification in Applied AI from MIT (expected April 2026).

Rachel is fluent in Spanish and conversational in French, and she is a dual citizen of the United States and the United Kingdom. Outside of work, Rachel enjoys spending time with her husband and three children, playing tennis, cooking, and hiking.
