Nathan Smolenski

Senior Vice President, Chief Information Security Officer, Qualys

As chief information security officer (CISO) at Qualys, Nathan Smolenski leads the company's cybersecurity strategy, protecting its products, operations, and global business from evolving cyber threats. He brings more than 20 years of experience across financial services, insurance, and technology, along with a strong track record of modernizing enterprise security programs and technology architectures. Before joining Qualys, Smolenski served as CISO at Cyera, a data security platform company. He previously held CISO roles at Spencer Stuart, Zurich North America, and 21st Century Insurance, and served as head of cyber intelligence strategy at Netskope.

Throughout his career, Smolenski has worked closely with internal and external boards and committees, building trusted-advisor relationships and working partnerships that advance the transformation and maturity of security, risk management, and technology. He studied cybersecurity and homeland security at Thomas Edison State University, organizational development and leadership at Widener University, and business administration at Johnson & Wales University. He also holds the Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), and Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) designations.
