Jack Klinck
Board Member / Investor / Advisor
Jack is a senior executive with extensive international operating experience in financial services and public/private/non-profit boards.
Jack has spent his career in financial services including three global banks and more recently Angel Investing/Venture Capital, consulting and board work. Jack began his career in credit cards at American Express Centurion Bank in New York City before moving to Pittsburgh to work for Mellon Bank. At Mellon, Jack was promoted to Vice Chairman and CEO of its International Operations based in London serving on the Management Committee. Jack was recruited to join State Street in Boston, also serving on the Management Committee where he ran Global Strategy, Marketing, Hedge Fund Administration, and started a new business unit called Alpha/Global Exchange building an insights platform from custody and accounting datasets for institutional investors. In 2015, Jack left the large corporate world to join the FinTech revolution. He helped launch Hyperplane Venture Capital which has incubated seven start-ups and made 68 investments focused on artificial intelligence and advanced technologies in the B2B space. Jack is currently a Senior Advisor at Boston Consulting Group (BCG).
Jack has extensive board experience across a range of companies. In the boardroom, Jack has actively worked on several difficult issues including an unplanned CEO departure, activist shareholder intervention, complex mergers and deep engagement with national and local regulators. He joined as the first independent director of Cardlytics (NASDAQ:CDLX) when it was a private company and helped lead the 2018 IPO. He is currently Chair of the Board. Jack serves as one of 5 independent directors of DTCC where he chairs the Compensation and HR Committee. Jack also serves as one of the first directors and Vice Chairman of Xpansiv, the world’s largest energy and environmental commodities trading and analytics platform. Jack serves as a director of Proof, a company bringing digital transaction and identify verification tools to the financial services industry.
Jack has been active in the communities where he lives and works. He recently spent 10 years as a board member of the Boy Scouts of America for Eastern MA including 2.5 years as Chairman. He also serves on the Advisory Council of the Boston Symphony Orchestra.
Jack has an MBA from The Fuqua School of Business at Duke University and a BA from Middlebury College where he earned Honors on his Senior Thesis.
