Ira Birns serves as Chief Executive Officer of World Kinect Corporation, operating as World Fuel, and is a member of its Board of Directors. A Fortune 100 company with $37 billion in annual revenue, World Fuel provides energy procurement, logistics, and related products and services to customers across the aviation, marine, and ground-based transportation industries in more than 200 countries and territories throughout the world.

Mr. Birns joined World Fuel in 2007 and served as Chief Financial Officer and President prior to being named CEO in 2026. Over the course of his tenure, he has been instrumental in strengthening the company’s financial foundation, including its balance sheet profile, while driving cost discipline and efficiency throughout the business. He also helped advance lower-carbon solutions, including sustainable aviation fuel, renewable diesel, and other renewable energy products.

As CEO, Mr. Birns is leading World Fuel’s strategy to sharpen its focus, improve operational performance, pursue disciplined growth, and create long-term shareholder value.  He is also focused on helping customers navigate increasingly complex energy and sustainability needs worldwide.

Mr. Birns also serves on the board of directors of STEM, Inc., a publicly traded energy software company, where he chairs the Audit Committee. In addition, he serves as Vice Chairman of the New World Symphony in Miami, a renowned orchestral academy that trains and supports exceptional musicians at the start of their professional careers and he also serves on the board of directors of the Florida Holocaust Museum based in St. Petersburg, Florida.

He is a past Chairman of the Association for Financial Professionals and is a Certified Public Accountant.
