Denise serves on the Board of Tractor Supply Company (TSCO:NASDAQ), the country’s largest rural lifestyle retailer where she is the Chair of the Governance Committee and a member of the Compensation Committee. TSCO has experienced significant growth over the past five years with revenues reaching $15B, a market cap of $30B, 2,500 stores and 50,000 employees. During her tenure as Committee Chair, the Committee has led the successful and planned Board refreshment and leadership rotation. The TSCO Board and Management have navigated a fluid external environment and increased shareholder value through commitment to its mission and values. The TSCO Board has been named as the Best Board in Retail by Institutional Investor and has been recognized for its diversity.
Objectivity, keen business insights, humility and Denise’s composure and purpose-driven leadership in times of growth, transition and crisis, bring crucial perspective and character to the boardroom. Customer focus and business sensibilities derived from Denise’s executive operational leadership experience in risk management and HR combined with legal and governance expertise make her an impactful board member, particularly as an organization grows and scales.
Prior to her election to the TSCO Board, Denise served as a director of PipelineRx, an early stage telepharmacy technology and services company, where she was Chair of its Compensation Committee. Denise also served as the Board Chair of Girls on the Run International, a multimillion-dollar non-profit.
As a C-Suite executive at AMN Healthcare (AMN:NYSE) from 2000- 2023, Denise, with her colleagues, shaped and executed the strategy and cultivated the culture that propelled transformational growth from a $250M privately-held nurse staffing company to the nation’s largest publicly-traded workforce management and technology organization with revenues reaching ~$5B and over 15,000 employees. As the Chief Legal Officer and Corporate Secretary, Denise served as a trusted advisor to the AMN Board through its IPO and secondary offerings, CEO and director transitions, shareholder engagements and M&A.
Leadership positions with Women Corporate Directors fuel Denise’s passion for the development of female leaders. Always striving to gain knowledge to broaden her perspective, she earned the Diligent Climate and ESG certifications.
Denise holds JD and BS degrees from the University of Arizona and a MPH from The George Washington University.
