Ben McGraw’s background is in general management, drug development and finance.  Doctor McGraw is chairman of Evommune, Inc., a public biotechnology company which is discovering and developing products for immunologic diseases and is a director Trefoil Therapeutics, Inc. a private biotechnology company developing an engineered growth factor for corneal diseases.  Until it was sold to Bayer, he was executive chairman of Perfuse Therapeutics, a private ophthalmology company developing products to improve retinal perfusion initially in glaucoma and diabetic retinopathy.  Until it was sold to Alcon, Dr. McGraw was executive chairman and chairman of Aerie Pharmaceuticals, Inc., a public ophthalmology company.  Until it was sold to Bausch and Lomb, he was a director of Ista Pharmaceuticals, a public ophthalmology company.  He was previously chairman and CEO of Auration Biotech, a private biotechnology company developing a growth factor for regeneration of the tympanic membrane and Valentis, Inc. a public gene therapy company.  Prior to that he was corporate vice president, corporate development at Allergan, Inc., a public pharmaceutical company; and vice president, development at Marion Laboratories, Inc. and Marion Merrell Dow, Inc. (now Sanofi US), both public pharmaceutical companies. He’s been an analyst and a portfolio manager at 2 hedge funds and a venture partner at a venture capital fund.  Dr. McGraw received his B.S. and Doctor of Pharmacy degrees from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center, where he also completed a clinical practice residency.
