Adam Johnson is a leading voice in America’s effort to rebuild critical mineral supply chains. With two decades of experience in private equity, new technologies, and advanced materials, he has helped drive some of the most important U.S. ventures in rare earths and strategic materials.

As CEO of Principal Mineral he leads a mission-oriented team of proven leaders who have been at the forefront of solving industrial base and supply chain challenges in both the public and private sectors.

Previously, at Ara Partners, he designed the investment strategy that led to the acquisition of Vacuumschmelze, a Western rare earth magnetics leader, unlocking over $550 million in U.S. government and private investment for a new rare earth magnet facility in South Carolina to support General Motors and the Pentagon. Earlier at MP Materials, Adam led the company’s $700M expansion strategy into rare earth metals and magnets and helped secure long-term partnerships to strengthen the domestic supply chain.

He has advised both the Pentagon and Department of Energy and written and spoken widely on how to mobilize private capital for U.S. industrial resilience.
