The NACD Research Triangle Chapter welcomes directors and the senior leaders who support them—to our chapter-exclusive Leading from the Boardroom series for a session exploring the board’s critical role in shaping leadership continuity through effective compensation oversight, talent management, and CEO and board succession and evaluation.
Effective leadership continuity requires more than a succession plan; it demands an integrated governance approach that connects executive compensation trends, enterprise talent management, and CEO and board succession and evaluation. This session will deliver a strategic, board-focused examination of how these levers work together to sustain stability, drive performance, and strengthen long-term organizational value.
Participants will explore advanced strategies for identifying and developing future leaders, building a resilient leadership pipeline, and applying disciplined evaluation processes at both the CEO and board levels. The conversation will also highlight emerging compensation practices that reinforce accountability, support the retention of high-potential executives, and align leadership incentives with strategic outcomes.
Through real-world examples and interactive discussion, attendees will learn how to embed succession planning and talent oversight into their broader governance framework, ensuring their organizations are prepared for both planned and unexpected leadership transitions. Directors will leave with a clearer pathway to cultivating a robust, future-ready leadership architecture capable of navigating the increasing complexity of today’s operating environment.
