About The Event
For the foreseeable future, the one constant for America’s public, private, and nonprofit corporations is change. Directors need to be well prepared. With their fiduciary responsibilities to company shareholders and their stewardship roles, leaders will have to navigate an ever-turbulent, unpredictable, and fast-paced environment.
Last fall, NACD released The Future of the American Board, which addressed the importance of corporate purpose in driving business and its governance. In search for the soul of business, this comprehensive report emphasized the need for boards to consider the interests of all critical stakeholders, such as employees, customers, and communities, in the creation of long-term shareholder value. It revealed how boards will need to adapt to the future, answering critical questions like:
- Can the prevailing governance model be adapted to changing times or is a fundamental reshaping in order?
- How will boards meet the heightened mandate to steward long-term value creation for their companies?
- How are high performance boards incorporating these principles now and for continous improvement into the future?
- With employees demanding corporate change should CEOs be on the front line of tackling these issues?
Attendees learned how you can be better prepared as a director of the future in a vibrant discussion with our esteemed speakers. They developed guiding principles to build high performing boards ready to tackle demanding, inclusive, and turbulent change.
