David Hendrickson

Marketing & Membership Chair

Mr. Hendrickson is a seasoned business leader known for his transformative impact on corporate governance and executive leadership across diverse industries. As the Founder and CEO of DLH International, he has successfully guided global and domestic corporations and emerging enterprises through critical phases of corporate governance, organizational development, succession management, risk management, executive compensation strategies and digital transformation. 

His experience as an Independent Chairman of a Nasdaq-listed company further refined his skills in navigating governance challenges and stakeholder relationships.  Additionally, he chaired the Compensation Committee and also served on the Audit Committee and the Nominating and Governance Committee.  Beyond corporate roles, Mr. Hendrickson demonstrates a commitment to education and social responsibility through his service on the advisory board of a private liberal arts college and his past board memberships with the Rainforest Alliance and Stanford University's Institute for the Quantitative Study of Society.

Before establishing DLH International, Mr. Hendrickson was a Senior Partner and Board Member, Heidrick & Struggles International, Inc. and Heidrick and Struggles International, where he worked and lived in major financial hubs including London, Paris, New York, and Greenwich. During his tenure Mr. Hendrickson co-founded the Transnational Practice and played a pivotal role in shaping the International Technology Practice.  His experiences in major financial hubs such as London, Paris, New York, and Greenwich have equipped him with a global perspective that informs strategic decision-making.  His sector expertise encompasses information technology, financial services, professional and business services, retail e-commerce, consumer goods, entertainment and media, and luxury goods. Mr. Hendrickson has successfully placed numerous board members and C-suite executives while advising early-stage venture capital-backed startups on capital-raising initiatives and governance frameworks that foster growth. 

Mr. Hendrickson is an active member of the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD). He is an elected board member of the NACD Connecticut Chapter, chairs the Marketing and Membership Committee and is a member of the Nominating and Governance Committee.  His advocacy for best practices in corporate governance, compensation and risk has led to measurable improvements in enhancing company valuation, stakeholder engagement and ensuring sustainable growth within the organizations he serves.  He is a member of the Nasdaq Center for Board Excellence. 

Mr. Hendrickson is an active member of the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD) and serves on the board of the NACD Connecticut Chapter.  He chairs the Marketing and Membership Committee and is a member of the Nominating and Governance Committee. He is also a member of The Nasdaq Center for Board Excellence. 

Mr. Hendrickson is a graduate of prestigious executive programs, Driving Strategic Innovation Program, International Institute for Management Development (IMD), Lausanne, Switzerland, and the Entrepreneurship Development Program at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Sloan School of Management, Cambridge, Massachusetts. 

Mr. Hendrickson began his career at IBM, where he held positions of increasing responsibility in sales, marketing, and product development, and was on the commercial team that launched the groundbreaking IBM Personal Computer—an innovation that revolutionized the technology landscape. He contributed to the book, "The IBM Way: Insights into the World's Most Successful Marketing Organization."
