About The Event

The 2026 NACD Directors Summit delivered plenty of bold predictions, provocative perspectives, and challenges to conventional boardroom thinking. Three main-stage talks especially caught my attention—not because I necessarily agreed, but because they raised questions worth debating.

My reflections move from global disruption to boardroom decisions: Ian Bremmer on geopolitical risks, Jesse Cohn of Elliott Investment Management on shareholder activism—and the tough questions that should go both ways—and Eric Ries on whether traditional governance practices sometimes do more harm than good.

These are my personal observations, shared to spark curiosity, conversation, and perhaps a little constructive disagreement among NACD Chicago members. They do not represent the views or endorsements of NACD Chicago's Board of Directors or NACD National.
