Talent strategy and executive compensation are central to enterprise performance, culture, and risk management. As a result, the role of the compensation committee has expanded substantially over the last few years. In particular, 2025 saw the most substantial developments in executive compensation and corporate governance since the passage of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act in 2010. In an environment shaped by evolving workforce expectations, heightened stakeholder scrutiny, and rapidly changing regulatory and disclosure demands, boards must proactively ask how pay, incentives, and human capital strategy align with long-term value creation.
