Artificial intelligence (AI) is changing not only how companies operate but also how fraud is perpetrated. Deepfakes, synthetic identities, increasingly sophisticated social engineering, and AI-enabled financial schemes are creating new vulnerabilities—challenging traditional approaches to fraud prevention and detection.
What does this mean for the board? This session will explore the evolving AI-enabled fraud landscape and the board’s role in overseeing preparedness, controls, and response. How should directors assess whether management understands the organization’s exposure? Are existing controls keeping pace with new threats? What questions should boards be asking about AI-related fraud before an incident occurs?
Participants will also have the opportunity to participate in a tabletop exercise to hone their skills. When an AI-enabled fraud event is unfolding, do directors know what they need to know, when they need to know it, and what to do with that information? Let’s find out together. Attendees will break into groups and discuss the critical first 24 hours. We’ll explore how boards may react to incomplete or conflicting information, deescalate risk, and support stakeholders in a simulated crisis.
