Elias Margonis is a senior consultant within Egon Zehnder’s Industrial Practice Group, supporting clients across Energy and Industrial sectors. Known for his effectiveness in Board Advisory and Executive Search mandates, he goes deep with clients to understand leadership and organizations with relevant industry and business context. Margonis’ extensive experience and insights allow him to partner with clients to navigate critical operational, technical, and commercial opportunities. He is a go-to expert for many areas of energy extending into new energies, decarbonization, industrial services, and critical infrastructure platforms.

Prior to joining Egon Zehnder, Margonis spent approximately 20 years in the industrial gas industry. Starting in engineering and technical roles, he progressively took on greater responsibilities in operations, energy management, commercial leadership, strategic projects, and P&L management roles. Margonis served as Managing Director for Air Liquide’s integrated industrial and medical business across Northern Europe. Before transitioning to board and leadership advisory, he led an independent and employee-owned distribution and service business in the Northwest US.

Margonis earned a BS in mechanical engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology before undergoing executive training at dedicated business management programs at the London Business School and the China Europe International Business School.
