Veronica Hinojosa Segura is a corporate board director and a former C-Suite executive with over 40 years of experience in highly regulated industries.

Ms. Hinojosa Segura is the former Vice Chancellor & Controller of one of the largest university systems in the nation, the University of Texas System. She was responsible for systemwide oversight of accounting activity and financial reporting for an organization with revenue of $37B, a $31B operating budget, and a $78B net position.

Veronica was the President and CEO of a community health clinic that was a member of the $8B non-profit hospital network, Ascension Health. Under her tenure, the childhood center division received $12M in federal funding to launch the first ever Head Start Program.

Veronica began her career in state government as a portfolio manager of a $6B municipal bond portfolio. She advanced her career and was known within the business community as a subject matter expert in treasury and fiscal management. This led Veronica to a Global Treasury position with Dell Computer where she implemented a nationally acclaimed international digital treasury platform.

Veronica is an active leader of corporate and nonprofit boards. She currently serves on the Health Care Service Corporation board (HCSC) and is the Chair of the Audit committee. Veronica is a Director Member for the Latino Corporate Directors Association and serves as the Audit Chair. In addition, she is an active advisory committee board member for the NACD Texas TriCities Chapter. Veronica was recognized by a national organization, 50/50 Women on Boards, as one of fifty women to watch.

Veronica received her bachelor’s degree in finance and accounting from Texas A&M University – Kingsville, and her MBA from St. Edwards University. She resides with her husband in Austin, Texas, and has a son who is an attorney in Houston, Texas.
