Will Coursey

 Senior Manager, Cyber Consulting, Ernst & Young LLP 

Will Coursey is a Senior Manager in the Cyber Consulting practice of Ernst & Young LLP focused on cyber incident readiness and response services. Will assists the Consulting practice in leading the Cyber Incident Readiness service line including tabletop exercises, cyber audits and assessments, program management, and investigation assessments for large-scale cyber incidents as part of the EY Cybersecurity practice. He has experience leading evaluating hundreds of cyber incidents and their impacts to organizations across industries. 

Within his role as the Cyber Incident Readiness leader, Will is responsible for planning and facilitating tabletop exercises across all levels of management: technical through Boards of Directors. Additionally, he serves as one of the firm’s primary team members that evaluates cyber investigations into real-world incidents impacting EY’s clients numbering over 170+ annually. Will’s Readiness team utilizes the real-world intelligence gained during these investigations to enhance the firm’s tabletop experience. 

Will routinely delivers executive and board-level insight sessions based on the current cyber threat landscape, outcomes from recent investigations, and executive-level considerations for cyber incidents. 

Additional experience includes:

  • Evaluated the investigations and impacts of real-world cyber incidents on hundreds of EY clients across industries
  • Evaluated existing incident response programs against industry-leading frameworks (e.g., NIST 800-61, CSF 2.0)
  • Assisted organizations in developing overall incident response plans, including integration with existing crisis management, data breach and specific incident playbooks (e.g., ransomware, et.al.)
  • Planned, executed, and reported audits over an organizations’ incident detection and response capabilities
  • Coordinated key program management activities across multiple workstreams for a large-scale ransomware attacking, including key containment, restoration, and remediation procedures
