Sandy Howe is a board director and accomplished C-suite executive with more than 25 years of experience driving operational strategy, business development, and go-to-market transformation across technology, infrastructure, broadcast, and media sectors. She brings a strong record of P&L ownership, global market expansion, and business model innovation for both B2B and B2C enterprises, along with a proven ability to deliver sustainable growth and long-term value.
Recognized for her board governance expertise, operational rigor, and deep technical insight, executives and boards often seek Sandy’s perspective on emerging technologies and their strategic business applications. Her areas of expertise include 5G, wireless, fiber and broadband networks, Wi-Fi, video streaming, AI, cybersecurity, data center infrastructure, and spectrum. Known for her strategic vision, business acumen, and trusted relationships, she is a valued advisor across the global technology industry and an influential voice in the boardroom.
Sandy currently serves on the boards of ATX Networks, a global leader in broadband access and media distribution solutions and a KKR portfolio company, and SQUAN, a network infrastructure solutions provider and portfolio company of RFE Investment Partners. She previously served on the board of Minim (NASDAQ: MINM) and on the Technical Advisory Boards of Teleste (NASDAQ: TLT1V.HE) and Afiniti.
In addition to board service, Sandy actively advises private equity firms, including Digital Alpha and Littlebanc, and investment banks such as High Street Global Advisors, on infrastructure and service provider strategy and technology investments.
In 2021, Sandy founded S. Howe & Associates and its flagship initiative, Executive ON Board, to empower executives in technology, media, and entertainment industries to accelerate leadership impact, elevate board and investor visibility, and lead with strategic clarity through transformational business transitions.
Sandy has long supported the industry through board and advisory roles. Since 2019, she has served as an elected board member of NCTA – The Internet & Television Association, representing technology companies in advocacy before Congress and regulatory agencies. A decade-long board member of The WICT Network, including service as Chairperson, she has championed the development of women leaders in cable, media, and technology globally. Sandy previously served on the Consumer Technology Association’s (CTA) Retailer Council Board, advancing retail and consumer tech strategy.
Prior to her board work, Sandy held multiple senior executive roles at ARRIS (NASDAQ: ARRS), where she contributed to the company’s growth from $900M to $7B and led strategic advanced technology market development, global marketing, and the turnaround of a $150M consumer retail division. She played a key role in M&A due diligence and integration, including Motorola Home (NASDAQ: GOOGL), Pace (LSEG: Pace), ActiveVideo, and Sea Well.
Sandy also served as EVP & President of the Americas at Technetix, a UK-based, privately held technology company for the broadband industry, leading its two legal entities along with market expansion across North and South America. Sandy’s career began in engineering and sales, later spending a decade at Cisco (NASDAQ: CSCO), where she rose to Director, managing the company’s largest account, Time Warner Cable, growing it from $53M to over $1B.
A graduate of Pennsylvania State University, she is known for translating complex technologies into real-world business value. Sandy’s credibility in the technology sector makes her a sought-after speaker, panel member, and moderator at industry events, where she brings clarity and strategic insight to conversations on emerging innovation. Her leadership and impact have been recognized with numerous honors, including SCTE & WICT Women of the Year – Technology, Cable TV Pioneers, Multichannel News’ Wonder Woman, and CableFax Top Women in Technology. Sandy is a member of the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD) and the Private Directors Association (PDA).
Sandy and her husband, Peter Ruffin, manage a nationwide real estate portfolio business from their home in Wilmington, North Carolina—an endeavor she began shortly after college.
