Romy Diaz

Romulo “Romy” Diaz is the founder of Turtle on Post LLC, a board advisory services company, and serves as an independent director of the Federal Home Loan Bank of Pittsburgh and an advisor to PBJ Marketing LLC. Prior to retiring from Exelon Corp. in 2020, Diaz was general counsel of PECO Energy Co. and led a team that achieved approvals for first market-based power purchases of $3 billion annually. He previously served as vice president of Governmental and External Affairs and drove development of the company’s award-winning energy efficiency programs to help customers save energy and money. He was city solicitor of Philadelphia from 2005-2008, and following unanimous confirmation by the U.S. Senate, he served as assistant administrator of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency responsible for agency operations, human resources, procurement, and grants programs totaling $6 billion annually. At the U.S. Department of Energy, Diaz served in various roles, including counselor and deputy chief of staff to the Secretary of Energy. He began his career at the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission and was chief legislative counsel on major energy legislation, including Natural Gas Policy Act, Public Utilities Regulatory Policies Act, and DOE Organization Act. His board experience includes Philadelphia Museum of Art, Pan American Association of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Energy Development Authority, Center City District of Philadelphia, Philadelphia Board of Pensions and Retirement (2005-2008), and Philadelphia Facilities Management Corporation (2002-2008). Diaz earned his BA in the Plan II Honors Program from the University of Texas at Austin and his JD from the University of Texas School of Law.
