Patrick McGuiness is a director and past chair of the Board of Directors at Hiway Credit Union, a St. Paul, Minnesota financial institution with more than 90,000 members and $1.8 Billion in assets. He is chair of the governance committee and a member of the strategic planning committee. During Patrick’s service as a director, Hiway grew from $834 million to $1.8 Billion in assets, and recently entered a strategic merger of equals with Spire Credit Union. The combined entity will have more than $4 Billion in assets and 26 branches across Minnesota. Patrick also serves as a director for MLM Insurance Company, a professional liability insurance company providing professional liability coverage to law firms, lawyers, and judges in 15 states & Washington DC. He is a member of the audit committee, the enterprise risk management committee, and the compensation committee. Patrick is also a director for the Minnesota Nursery and Landscape Association – Minnesota’s green industry trade association and a member of the audit/finance committee. Past board experience includes Charter School Property, Inc. – a real estate holding company; West 7th Community Center – a St. Paul, MN community center; and St. Paul District 13 Community Council– a local advisory council to the St. Paul City Council. He is a founding member of the Minnesota Chapter of the Private Director’s Association, and a member of the National Association of Corporate Directors. As an attorney, Patrick co-founded Zlimen and McGuiness, PLLC, a Twin Cities, Minnesota law firm that assists landscape construction and green-industry businesses with a variety of legal needs. Patrick is also an officer in the U.S. Army Reserve, currently assigned as an Assistant Professor at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point.
