Michael P. Huerta

Michael Huerta is president of MPH Consulting. He serves on the boards of Delta Air Lines (NYSE: DAL), Joby Aviation (NYSE: JOBY), Verra Mobility (NASDAQ: VRRM), and The MITRE Corporation.
Michael served as Administrator of the Federal Aviation Administration from 2013 to 2018, joining the agency as Deputy Administrator in 2010. He redefined the regulatory relationship with the aviation industry to achieve greater safety through increased collaboration, and he led the agency's effort to modernize the air traffic control system while preparing the way for safe integration of new entrants, including commercial space launches and drones. He is also known for ending the decades-old ban on portable electronic devices during takeoff and landing, making gate-to-gate use possible.
Before joining the FAA, Michael was president of the Transportation Solutions Group of Affiliated Computer Services, Inc. He also held executive positions at the Salt Lake Organizing Committee for the Olympic Winter Games of 2002, the US Department of Transportation, the Port of San Francisco, and the New York City Department of Ports, International Trade and Commerce.
Michael received a BA from the University of California, Riverside and an MPA from the Princeton School of Public and International Affairs.
