Mai-Anh Tran
Associate Vice President of Philanthropic Service, Saint Paul & Minnesota Foundation; Nonprofit Board Member
Mai-Anh Tran supports a seasoned team of philanthropic advisors, gift planners and development & operations staff who provide high-touch services to donors, nonprofits, community affiliates and professional advisors across the state. In addition, she partners with some of the Foundation’s longest standing donors to help them with their philanthropic journey and charitable goals. Mai-Anh has more than 25 years of experience in nonprofit management & executive leadership, board management, fundraising & donor relations, and marketing & communications. As a former executive director of several statewide and international youth-serving nonprofits, she advocated on the state and federal level for positive youth development funding priorities as a lobbyist.
Mai-Anh serves on the boards of the Minnesota Council on Foundations and is co-chair of the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Committee and Raise the Barr, which provides financial assistance to single parents to finish college and provide economic mobility through a 2Gen strategy. She is a former board member, and now advisor, for the Minnesota Aurora, Minnesota’s pre-professional soccer club that is community owned and plays in the USL W League.
Mai-Anh graduated from Michigan State University with a journalism degree and minor in English. She is a former Humphrey Policy Fellow at the University of Minnesota and completed the University of St. Thomas Institute for Executive Director Leadership program. She received her Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) certification through Boston University. Mai-Anh is a former TV journalist and anchored news and weather in several Midwest markets. She is a proud mom of two daughters, one in high school and one in college.
