Jonathan Trull
Chief Information Security Officer, EVP, and GM, Qualys
Jonathan Trull is chief information security officer (CISO) at Qualys, overseeing all of the company’s cybersecurity functions and providing assurance to customers and the board on the company’s security and compliance posture.
Drawing on his deep CISO experience, Trull also leads go-to-market execution for the Qualys Enterprise TruRisk Management platform, translating cyber-risk strategy into customer-ready solutions that scale globally. He partners across product, engineering, and advanced-risk operations to build and deliver a world-class platform that helps organizations quantify, prioritize, and eliminate cyber risk.
In this dual role, he uniquely bridges corporate security, product strategy, and customer outcomes, ensuring that Qualys’ own security posture and its market-leading solutions are aligned with the realities CISOs face every day.
Trull brings more than 20 years of cybersecurity experience across the public and private sectors. Prior to Qualys, he served as general manager for detection and incident response at Microsoft, where he led global teams responsible for identifying, containing, and eradicating cyber threats across one of the world’s largest technology environments. He also served as CISO at Optiv.
Earlier in his career, Trull spent nearly 12 years in security and information technology audit leadership with the State of Colorado, culminating in his role of CISO for the Colorado Governor’s Office of Information Technology. He oversaw statewide information security operations across 17 departments, established Colorado’s first cybercrime task force, and helped modernize public-sector cyber defense. He also served as an intelligence officer in the US Navy Reserve.
Trull is a graduate of Harvard Business School’s Program for Leadership Development and holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science from the University of Colorado Boulder.
