Jane Accomando is a co-leader of the firm’s internationally recognized global energy industry team and a coleader of the Morgan Lewis Data Center Strategic Initiative. She advises nuclear energy companies and their  partners, including hyperscalers, in connection with nuclear plant licensing, regulatory compliance, government  and internal investigations, enforcement, and spent fuel claims. Jane has both a B.S. and an M.S. in nuclear  engineering and brings her in-depth technical knowledge to bear in representing energy industry clients. Jane is proud to serve as a member of the firm’s Inclusion Committee.

Jane assists clients in navigating the US Nuclear Regulatory Commission’s (NRC’s) licensing process, including developing regulatory strategies and preparing regulatory filings.

Jane also represents clients in investigations conducted by the NRC’s Office of Investigations, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, and the US Department of Energy’s (DOE’s) Office of Enterprise Assessments. She leads confidential investigations into allegations of wrongdoing, conducts safety culture assessments, and provides training to company leaders on detecting and preventing retaliation. 

Much of Jane’s practice relates to multimillion-dollar claims against the federal government regarding the government’s obligation to accept and dispose of spent nuclear fuel. She represents clients in litigated cases before the US Court of Federal Claims and annual spent fuel settlement submissions to the DOE. Jane has advised clients on dozens of spent fuel damages claims over the course of her career.
