Gary Sender is an accomplished biopharmaceutical executive with extensive financial leadership and governance experience across both public and private companies. He currently serves on the boards of directors of five biotechnology organizations, including Schrödinger, Harmony Biosciences, iBio, Apnimed, and Hula Therapeutics. Reflecting his deep governance expertise, Mr. Sender chairs the audit commitees for all five companies, as well as the
compensation commitees for Schrödinger and iBio.

Mr. Sender retired as Chief Financial Officer of Nabriva plc in March 2021. His previous financial leadership roles include serving as CFO of Synergy Pharmaceuticals, Senior Vice President of Finance for Shire plc—where he supported its global commercial operations and specialty pharmaceuticals business—and founding CFO of Tengion, Inc. Earlier in his career, he spent 15
years at Merck & Co., Inc. in a series of senior leadership positions, including Assistant Treasurer, Head of Investor Relations, Executive Director of Financial Evaluation and Analysis and Vice President and Controller for its U.S. pharmaceuticals business.

Mr. Sender holds a bachelor’s degree in Finance and Management Information Systems from Boston University and an MBA in Finance from Carnegie Mellon University.
