Gail Harris has over 20 years of experience as an independent director on public and private company boards across diverse industries. She has served as an advisor to CEOs and has extensive experience in leading boards, CEO succession, strategic planning, and corporate governance. Her background brings a sophisticated understanding of finance, risk, regulation, and complex businesses and transactions—expertise that has helped her guide companies through difficult challenges, transformations, and growth. Harris currently serves as lead independent director and nominating and corporate governance committee chair of Evercore Inc. She also serves on the audit committee. She has past board experience with Seacor Holdings Inc., Cigna Life Insurance Company of New York, and several private companies, including a healthcare technology firm focused on AI-enabled oncology solutions. Harris was the first woman corporate partner at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP, a leading international law firm, where she worked for over two decades and advised a wide variety of clients on capital markets, securities offerings, complex business transactions—including mergers and acquisitions, and international joint ventures primarily involving entertainment and media companies.
