Eric Black

President & CEO of Minnesota Diversified Industries; Nonprofit and Philanthrophic Board Member

Eric Black is the President & CEO of Minnesota Diversified Industries, where he oversees all aspects of the $45 million social enterprise non-profit.  MDI aims to provide inclusive employment opportunities for people with disabilities and is headquartered in Minneapolis, with 4 manufacturing sites. The organization employs 500 people, with 50% having a disability, and offers corrugated plastic packaging solutions, kitting services, and medical-device assembly.  MDI’s Unified Work training program is teaching employability skills internationally to people of all abilities with barriers to employment.  

Eric is a board member of the Minnesota Chamber of Commerce and its affiliated Foundation, Twin Cities R!SE, Cookie Cart, Monitors Foundation, and TCBANDD.

Eric obtained his Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Missouri-S&T, and an MBA from the University of St Ambrose, Iowa. He currently resides in Eden Prairie, MN, along with his wife, Tawanna Black, and their children, Traviata and Christian.
