Eddie Story brings more than 35 years of experience advising boards, CEOs and executive teams on governance, risk, ethics, compliance and strategy within complex, mission-driven global organizations. A former senior executive and general counsel for a leading international research institute, RTI International, he works closely with Smith Anderson’s attorneys and leadership team to strengthen client relationships and cultivate connections across the business community nationwide. Eddie brings clients firsthand insight into the governance, risk, compliance and strategic challenges facing today’s corporate leaders.

Eddie most recently served as senior legal advisor – corporate governance at RTI, supporting leadership continuity. Prior to that, he served as executive vice president, chief legal officer and corporate secretary and was a member of its Executive Leadership Team, advising the board and senior management while overseeing global legal affairs, compliance and enterprise risk management. He also led their Technology Advancement and Commercialization and Discovery Sciences business units, providing broad operational insight beyond the legal function.
