Cheryl Ainoa serves on the Board of Directors of Builders FirstSource (NASDAQ: BLDR), bringing more than three decades of experience leading technology innovation, digital transformation, and large-scale operations.

Cheryl recently retired from Walmart, where she was Chief Technology Officer for Sam’s Club and played a key role in shaping Walmart’s enterprise-wide generative AI strategy. She led the modernization of Sam’s Club’s technology platform, advancing the use of AI, data, and automation to enhance member and associate experiences. As Executive Vice President of New Businesses & Emerging Technology, she guided Walmart’s innovation agenda, developing strategies to integrate emerging technologies—such as generative AI, computer vision, and advanced analytics—across the enterprise.

Previously, Cheryl was Chief Operating Officer at D2L, a SaaS learning platform company, and held senior leadership roles at Intuit and Yahoo!, where she drove engineering excellence and platform modernization. She began her career in software development and has served as an independent director at Move, Inc., acquired by NewsCorp in 2014.

Cheryl holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Washington State University and an MBA from Santa Clara University.
