Aretha Green-Rupert, a program director at the Carlson Family Foundation, is responsible for implementing the Constellation Strategy, which aims to expand and support the constellation of adults who are skillful partners in young people’s development. Aretha's professional journey began in Birmingham, Alabama, where she ensured girls, especially those of color, had access to resources and opportunities for success. This early work set the stage for an over 25-year career that is rooted in centering and amplifying the voices of underrepresented communities. Before joining the Carlson Family Foundation, Aretha was a regional director at Otto Bremer Trust, chief development officer at Girl Scouts River Valleys, and youth development director at YWCA St. Paul. She has served as a board member of a several community-based organizations. Her current roles include serving as board chair of the Black Collective Foundation MN, board chair of Genesys Works – Twin Cities, board member of Opus Foundation, and vice chair of the North Commons Campaign Committee. Aretha's recognition as a 2022-2023 GEO Change Leaders in Philanthropy Fellow underscores her commitment to equitable grantmaking.
