Aeisha Mastagni is the senior portfolio manager in the Sustainable Investment and Stewardship Strategies unit of the California State Teachers’ Retirement System (CalSTRS). She is part of the team that oversees the Sustainable Investment Portfolio and leads CalSTRS’ stewardship efforts, which includes proxy voting, corporate engagement, and working with regulatory authorities on market-wide issues. Mastagni speaks with both notable mainstream and pension industry outlets, including The Wall Street Journal, Financial Times, Bloomberg, Reuters, and Pensions & Investments. Previously, she worked in the Corporate Governance unit of the California Public Employees’ Retirement System (CalPERS). She also worked in operations at Salomon Smith Barney before moving to Morgan Stanley as a financial advisor and assistant operations manager. Mastagni chairs the Council of Institutional Investors and is vice chair at Golden 1 Credit Union.
