Scott Sauer brings more than three decades of experience to the boardroom, combining deep financial, strategic and governance expertise to provide insights and guidance to drive long-term value for shareholders. He is a qualified financial expert and currently serves on the boards of the Pennymac Mortgage Investment Trust (NYSE: PMT), the West Point Association of Graduates, and the Pacific Southwest Chapter of the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD). At PMT, he serves on its risk committee, and at the West Point Association of Graduates, he chairs the audit and compensation committees and is vice-chair of the finance committee.

Scott is a retired Deloitte & Touche LLP audit partner with 30 years serving the financial service and other industries. He led numerous client relationships and audits, including regulated banks, asset management companies, brokerages, mortgage servicers and other financial institutions. Other clients included manufacturing, software, FINTECH, real estate, payment processors and travel & leisure companies.  Scott is a trusted advisor for clients with accounting, financial transformation, IPOs, spin-offs, M&A and industry matters. He regularly participated in and presented at both public and private company board and committee meetings, including performance metrics, financial engineering, AI and data governance. He has led numerous national trainings and international projects in Europe and Asia.

Scott is Airborne and Ranger qualified and served as a US Army Captain during Operation Desert Storm, for which he was awarded the Bronze Star and Valorous Unit Citation. He also served in Germany during the fall of the Iron Curtain.

Scott earned his M.B.A. at Seattle University, and his B.S. at the United States Military Academy. He holds a Directorship Certification (NACD.DC) and is a licensed certified public accountant.
